Im not as good as you think!

Okay, so maybe when I said Elayna calmly walked Corbyn to time-out I was being modest! haha... After reading I thought, you know, she sounds a little too sweet! She was rather upset!

So I'm here to say I'm a normal mom that is sometimes patient & sometimes NOT, & sometimes TOO patient...so my kids run all over me, as my husband would say...just thought you outta know I can be the screaming banshee as well! Here's Corbyn sittin on "the mat" I think he's taking it very seriously dont you?

My little mini-me!

Okay isnt it scary when your kids reveal to you how you talk & what you say... & what you really look like to them...?

Well... this afternoon naughty Corbyn ripped one of Elayna's book pages. As I was emailing a paper to one of my teachers I thought I would let the whole ordeal difuse itself....so I thought...

After Corbyn ripped the book...
Elayna (the mom) calmly walked Corbyn (the naughty one) to Time Out while telling him

"Corbyn, that was a no no! We dont rip books! You are going to go to Time Out for 5 minutes because you ripped my favorite book."

Haha! what was really cute was Corbyn! He did exactly what she guided him to do. He sat down on the time-out mat (where he commonly sees Elayna sitting) ,and since he has never been to time-out, himeself, he shortly got up from the mat & so the punishment continued...

Elayna replied "Corbyn, you cannot get up yet. The timer did not go off. You have to sit back down on the mat & think about what you did....Do we rip books??? No. Sit down & dont get up anymore."

He got up several times before I intervened because she was getting angry & upset that he wouldnt stay on the mat! After Corbyn got out of time-out for the last time, I calmed her & she gave him a hug & explained once more, "We shouldn't rip pages from books & It makes me sad that you did that..."

I am not sure what I am raising! haha! what an eye-opener to hear your kids talk to each other & mimick your actions! I sound so mean when it comes from a 4yr old!

By the way......No kids were physically injured during the making of this blog! Corbyn was a good sport...only time will tell if he has learned his lesson!

Easter Pics

Happy Easter! We missed not being able to travel to see grandmas & grandpas & family this Easter, but we enjoyed having Easter here at home. Beautiful weather, great friends, good time...cannot ask for more!
We took this picture after the Saturday Easter egg hunt & I wish we had Chad in the picture! It would have been perfect! I love Corbyn's cheesy smile!!

Daddy & Corbyn trying to contain their excitement for the egg hunt! Eeee!

Elayna & Georgia teamed up for the egg hunt & I have to say made out like bandits in the candy dept.
Elayna, the egg-finding-pro, was inconveniently slowed down by mom with the occasional photo op.Corby getting the hang of things! There were SO many eggs! The Easter bunny was really amazing this year!

Mom on the other hand is trying to catch up with clothing coordinating and picture taking...& I am failing horribly! I just noticed in our photos we did not take a photo on Easter Sunday of the kids in their outfits! You plan what they were going to wear & you get so busy and before you know it your late for church! ugh! At least we made it to church & we can always take another pic, right!

Just to clarify...

After a few congratulations and re-reading my previous post I realized I did not state that the house we are building is (tear, tear) not for us. It is for sale!

Due to the fact we have started our business before owning a home I am afraid building is not in our near future. We do, however, live vicariously through others & enjoy it for the time being.

Pictures of the inside coming so soon...I think you will all LUV IT!

Our Newest "Baby"

This is it! The house has finally have gotten to a photograph-able stage & we love how it is turning out! Each house we build is our "baby" for the time and we put a lot of love into it! Its a whole family love affair too. The kids love to play on the mountains of dirt and sand outside when we stop by to check things out.

The picture below is what the kitchen will look like. I had an image in my mind of what I wanted it to be and we found this picture that fit perfectly.
(what would we do without the internet...seriously!)
The kitchen is almost done and we are getting light fixtures, flooring has taken a lot longer than expected. We planned on stained concrete but the color didn't stain evenly so we are changing plans & think it will be distressed hardwood or the trusty 'ol porcelain tile...

Flowers & Spring Break at the ZOO

My sweet husband got me flowers!
When we were dating and engaged (when he had money to burn) he got me flowers all the time!!! I occasionally comment to him it was false advertisement!
Haha so after 6 years of complaining, the other night he brought home these and a yummy chocolate bar!

Thanks honey!

Chad couldnt come with us to the zoo, he had too much work to do! So my fabulous cousin from Norman and her two boys came with us. We had soo much fun! This is a picture of the kids together on the baby hippo.
The animals were very alert most of the day which was great!
This zebra was so close! The zebras are my personal fav since I love zebra print! faux zebra that is!!!

Corbyn
on the Hippo again. He loved it & thought it was a ride. Of course he has his little chip in hand! Pringles are the best to take to the zoo. The can fits in the cup holder and they are not too messy.
It was so nice to go to the zoo with another mom because we each took the "occasional" photo with just mom and kids, which is a rarity, I know!

The dinosaurs unearthed exhibit was amazing! They had life-sized dinos that roared and moved. It really was cool. While we waited in line, I, (not the kids) got restless and thought "these dinosaurs better be worth it!" & it totally was!!

The exhibit will be at the zoo until June, I think.

After the zoo the kids & I drove to Yukon to visit my grandmother and spend the night with her.

(Poor great-grandma)... .... ....Within a hour at her house...Corbyn spilled her coffee on the carpet, smashed applesauce on the table and chair & just ripped through her toys.

He was complete"WILD CHILD" Leaving me thinking maybe we swapped him for a monkey by mistake. boys, boys, boys...

We always have a great time at Great-grandma Kennedy's. We relaxed and chatted. My grandpa passed away last October & the house is very different without him. I really miss him. Arn't Grandmas wonderful!!!

These are a few of my favorite things!

"When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I'm feelin sad..."

Laughing Cow cheese- A recent find. I love the little package and its only 35 calories and soo creamy... delish on whole wheat crackers!

Spontaneous game of hid & seek- to break up a potentially disastrous situation I run to a room of choice, with the kids whining behind me...I jump out and scare them resulting in laughter and happy faces!

My new purchase (MY clock)
- I have coveted for this clock for about a year! I don't make a lot of purchases without a long drawn-out thought process, these days!

Tricking my kids into cleaning up- sounds too good to be true, not so! The only way to get little ones to pick up is to trick them. We race, throw, and play our way to satisfaction.

ahh, these are just a few of my favorite things.
